Sound Art Project
Hello, again! We've been exploring several types of noises in class over the last few days, including foley sounds, diegetic and non-diegetic. To practice, we formed groups and devised our own scenes and noises to put together.
Scene 1: A restaurant
1. Footsteps
2. Door opening
3. Jazz music and conversation.
4. Glass clinking
5. A woman requests, "Table for two, please?"
Sound 1:
Scene 2: A family gathering.
1. Adults speaking
2. Children laughing
3. Glass shatter
4. Kid yells, "Oh my god!"
Sound 2:
The second part of our task was to design four of our own foley sounds. Below is a compilation of all our sounds; attempt to determine what each one is supposed to be!
Foley Sounds
Sound 1: The student crinkles his chip bag.
Sound 2: A student rolls the bottom of a toy car's wheels.
Sound 3: A student clicks her medallions together.
Sound 4: The student runs her finger across a balloon.
If you guessed sound 1 was hail on a car roof, you're right! If you guessed sound 2 was people clapping, you are correct. If you guessed wind chimes for sound 3, you were right! If you thought sound 4 was a motorcycle revving, you are correct!
