Mood Boards

Welcome back! Recently, we've been exploring how scene arrangement and various elements—like lighting, props, colors, and costumes—can shape the overall mood. To put this knowledge into practice, my classmates and I created mood boards to represent different settings. Below, I’ve included the mood boards I designed, along with a brief description of my thought process behind each one. Enjoy!

Airport

For my first setting, I chose an airport. To capture the essence of this bustling environment, I included images of steaming coffee, serving weary travelers, lively crowds rushing to catch their flights, and an array of suitcases and terminals. I hope this mood board evokes a whirlwind of emotions: the thrill of upcoming adventures, the anxiety of the hectic atmosphere, and the restlessness that comes with waiting for various flights.

Jazz Club

My next scene is set in a jazz club, an intimate space alive with energy. The mood board features images of cozy, dim lighting that casts a warm glow over the scene. You'll find lively crowds and friends sharing drinks, their laughter filling the air. I included pictures of musicians on stage, capturing the way the jazz music sways through the room. My goal was to immerse viewers in this setting, so they can almost hear the clinking of glasses, feel the laughter, and experience the warm buzz that surrounds them.

Pumpkin Patch

This next setting is a pumpkin patch. A burst of autumn colors, with perfect orange pumpkins ready to be picked by the friends and family wandering about.  I included images highlighting the warm, cozy hues to enhance the festive atmosphere. Pictures of sweet treats evoke the crisp air filled with warm apple cider and ripe pumpkins. Wooden signs point to a nearby corn maze, while hay bales sway gently in the breeze, adding a rustic, homey feel. With these elements, I hope the audience can immerse themselves in the scene, feeling the chill of autumn and hearing the laughter of friends, capturing the essence of fall and the joy of creating memories together.

Arcade

My last setting is an arcade, alive with energy and vibrant colors. The walls are illuminated with flashing neon lights and the cheerful sounds of games fill the air. I included images showcasing classic and modern arcade machines, inviting friends and families to compete for high scores. Pictures of players laughing and cheering create a lively atmosphere, while shots of colorful tokens and prizes add to the excitement. The arcade’s layout features cozy seating areas where players can recharge, surrounded by the thrill of competition. With these elements, I hope the audience can feel the buzz of the arcade, hear the clatter of coins, and experience the joy of friendly rivalry and shared fun.
